Welding stainless steel requires experience and skill. As stainless steel is a harder material with special mechanical properties, knowledge and practice are of great importance for the final result. When the material is heated, it experiences stresses that create bulges and cause the material to "buckle". This problem can be minimized by using the right welding technique and through long experience. Welding stainless steel with very high finish requirements can be challenging.

The sheet metal may have a brushed surface that needs to be kept as intact as possible, requiring very advanced grinding to restore the surface to the finest possible finish. Sometimes pickling or the use of special root gas is required for the best results.
