Associated grinding as well as pickling are often natural steps to obtain products of the highest quality and finish.

Welding – Different methods

Welding is done manually or through various robotic solutions. There is also a range of welding methods with different additives or melting of materials. The most common methods are MIG, TIG, and spot welding.

The thinner the material, the more precise the welding must be. Otherwise, there is a risk of burn-through. We have very skilled and experienced welders at Plåt & Mekano Romator, many of whom have over 30 years of experience.

Manual welding in steel is a craft that requires professional skills. Experience and accuracy are important characteristics of a welder.

Manual welding of aluminium is an even more demanding craft as aluminum has a lower melting point and can be affected by many more factors. Welding aluminum requires a good knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, and skill. It takes many years to become a skilled welder of precision parts. Surface finish: The post-weld requirements often directly determine the price. For example, if a completely smooth surface with an invisible weld is required, it often requires grinding, a manual finishing process. We deliver the level of weld that the product requires. This must be communicated from you as a customer.

We have the knowledge of how sheet metal parts should be produced to minimise welding and grinding times and can often get good-looking welds without post-processing. We assist you in the choice of method or surface finish requirements to optimise the cost picture.
