Half a century of perseverance and development

On 6 February 1975, Plåt & Mekano Romator was registered, and 50 years later the company is stronger than ever. The anniversary was celebrated with cake on the day of registration, but a big event has also been planned for 4 June, where employees, family members and some of the customers are invited to a day of fellowship and celebration. The programme includes a factory tour, a golf competition, a paddle tournament, exciting quizzes and a themed dinner and entertainment.

"We would have liked to invite all our customers, of course, but then we would have had to rent a whole arena! However, I want to be clear that every customer, big or small, means a lot to us," says Eva Mauritzon, co-owner and one of the key people behind the company's success.

A milestone of generational change and confidence in the future

Reaching 50 years is not just a number - it is proof of the company's endurance and ability to develop. Plåt & Mekano Romator is now facing a generational change, with three family members ready to take over the baton. From the founder Rune, to Tony and Eva, and now to the next generation - it is a journey filled with dedication and passion.

"Tony started as a summer worker at the age of 16 and took over responsibility in the workshop at 18. In a way, he was part of the first generation even then," says Eva.

Customer focus and staff satisfaction - the key to success

The company has built its success on a simple but powerful principle: service. Being there for customers is a given, and that commitment permeates the entire organisation. Many employees stay with the company throughout their careers, and satisfaction is high.

Eva says that they get 4.88 out of 6 in their employee satisfaction surveys and goes on to talk about how all employees are like part of the family, and that it is clear that they appreciate the workplace. Varied tasks, a good atmosphere and a wonderful social interaction are what lies behind Plåt & Mekano Romator's success story in terms of the workforce.

Family feeling and pride in every project

Plåt & Mekano Romator is and remains a family business, and this permeates the culture. Seeing the result of the joint work is a feeling of pure pride.

"We always strive to do the best we can for our customers, and there's an incredible sense of pride when you walk into the workshop and see what we've achieved. Have we really built all this?" says Eva.

The future - a balance between tradition and innovation

As Eva reflects on the company's journey, one thing is clear: the importance of keeping up with the times. Never stagnating has been the key to success, and they are taking that principle into the future. "We have started exploring AI and its possibilities. You can never be too afraid of new technology, that's when you fall behind."

It is difficult to predict what Plåt & Mekano Romator will look like in another 50 years, but one thing is certain - the company will continue to develop and stay at the forefront. "Everything changes so quickly, which is clearly visible in our history as a company. But what we will always take with us is the importance of keeping up with technological developments and staying on top of our finances - that's the basis of our survival. In addition, we will continue to invest in our staff and make sure they have the right training to deal with the technologies of the future," she explains.

Plåt & Mekano Romator enters the future with the same drive that has carried them through the last five decades - a combination of innovation, commitment and a strong sense of family.
